AXIS + DanteDisplay-Driven Audio for the Modern Home
Dante has spent the better part of two decades proving itself in the hardest rooms in audio. Concert touring, stadiums, arenas, houses of worship, and corporate campuses all run on it because it does one thing exceptionally well: move many channels of low-latency, sample-accurate audio across a standard IP network without drift or dropouts. What started in live event and commercial AV is now moving into residential, and the value proposition translates cleanly. A single network cable replaces bundles of analog runs, channel counts scale without new infrastructure, and routing becomes a software decision instead of a rack-rewiring project. The hesitation integrators voice is rarely about the audio. It is about the network. Managed switches, IGMP snooping, and VLANs feel like a steep detour from a workflow that has been well understood for decades using long audio cables and a matrix.
AVPro built the AXIS line to remove that friction at the source. AXIS is the industry's first display-driven processing product line, and the premise is simple: the television is already the source. Smart TV apps are where end users actually consume content, whether that is Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, or YouTube Music, and any HDMI device connected to the display is available on the same input list. AXIS takes audio off the TV over eARC and encodes it directly to Dante. There are three models sized to the room. AXIS2 handles 2-channel encoding for a bedroom display, an office, or a music player feeding a distributed system. AXIS10 covers 10 channels for a well-appointed media room. AXIS16 delivers 16 channels for a dedicated home theater, listening room, or any space where immersive formats and discrete channel counts matter.
This is a real departure from the AV receiver model. In the traditional design, the AVR sits in the middle as a switcher, decoder, and amplifier, pulling every source through the rack and pushing video back out to the display. With AXIS, the display handles what it is already good at. Content plays natively on the panel, video never leaves it, and audio flows out over eARC into the AXIS for Dante encoding. From there the network does the distribution: local surround channels to the amplification in that room, plus any zone elsewhere in the house that wants the same stream. Control stays clean because the TV, its apps, and every HDMI-attached device are managed through CEC, which gives the client a genuine one-remote experience instead of a coffee table full of them.
The physical install is as straightforward as the signal path. AXIS units are designed for behind-display mounting, either fastened directly to a VESA bracket or tucked into a TV wall box, which keeps the hardware out of sight and shortens the HDMI run to a single short cable. Amplification pairs with the rest of the AVPro portfolio depending on the application. Hyperion Power Amps deliver high-end amplification for home theaters and critical listening rooms. The Rialto series offers a small form-factor, scalable option where rack space is limited or zone counts are high. The RTI AMP series fits resi-mercial work such as sports bars, restaurants, and multi-zone hospitality installs where reliability and channel density drive the spec.
Dante does not have to be daunting. AVPro pairs the AXIS audio layer with MXnet AVoIP for full audio, video, and control over a single IP backbone, and MXnet switches can be preconfigured for both audio and video traffic so the integrator is not writing switch configs on site. Add RTI on top and the entire system is driven from touchscreens, keypads, and a mobile app that the homeowner actually understands. The result is a system that gives integrators the scalability and routing flexibility of professional networked audio, with an install and control experience that feels simpler than the AVR it replaced.
