Managing multiple HDMI sources, displays, and audio systems has never been simpler. The STILE app from AVPro brings everything together through the AVPro Edge AC-MV-41 Multi-View Processor, giving you intuitive drag-and-drop control from a single interface on your iOS or Android device. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the complete configuration process from start to finish.
AVPro Edge STILE App: Complete Setup Walkthrough
AVPro Edge STILE App: Complete Setup Walkthrough
What You'll Need
- The AVPro Edge AC-MV-41 4K 4x1 MultiViewer connected to your local network
- A smartphone or tablet running iOS or Android
- Your HDMI sources (up to four) connected to the MultiViewer
- Optional: IR extension devices (e.g., Global Cache) for source control
Step 1: Download and Launch the App
Start by downloading the STILE app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once installed, open the app—it will immediately prompt you to scan for devices on your local network. This is how STILE locates your Multi-View Processor and any IR extension devices connected to the same network.
Step 2: Accept Terms and Choose a Setup Option
After accepting the terms and conditions, you’ll be presented with three setup options:
- Skip — Bypasses configuration and launches a demo mode so you can explore the app before committing to a setup.
- Discover Application Config — Imports a configuration from another already-configured device. Great for replicating a known working setup.
- Discover Devices — Scans the network and displays all AC-MV-41 units found. This is the option we’ll use for a fresh configuration.
For this walkthrough, select Discover Devices to configure your unit from scratch.
Step 3: Add and Name Your Unit
Once your AC-MV-41 is discovered on the network, its IP address will populate automatically. You can also assign the unit a custom name—this is especially useful when multiple units are present in the same installation, such as in a multi-room setup.
Step 4: Configure Your Sources
The STILE app supports up to four input sources. Each source can be defined as a static, uncontrolled device or configured with active control via CEC, IP, or IR. Here’s how to set each one up:
Naming Your Source
Start by entering a descriptive name for each source (e.g., “Apple TV”, “DirecTV”, “Gaming Console”), then select the device type you’d like to control. Since control options vary by device, be sure to consult the Source Control Guide before proceeding.
HDMI CEC Control
CEC devices may use different device identifiers, so the app lets you adjust this value to ensure proper communication between the MultiViewer and your source device.
IP Control
For IP-controlled devices, you’ll need to enable Mobile App Control on the device itself and locate its IPv4 address in its network settings before configuring it in STILE.
IR Control
After selecting your device, tap the arrow in the address bar to display all available IR output devices on the network. Configuration only takes a few clicks. STILE supports a wide range of IR-compatible sources including Apple TV, Roku, DirecTV, TiVo, Xbox, and many more.
Uncontrolled Devices
Devices set as “uncontrolled” don’t require any control configuration, but still offer customization options such as adjusting the display background color for that source’s tile.
Step 5: Configure Your Outputs
With your sources defined, it’s time to set up your video and audio outputs. The process mirrors source configuration, with the same control options available: None, HDMI CEC, or IR.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
- Auto Input Switching: Displays can be assigned a “Display Source,” which automatically switches the TV to a designated HDMI input when powered on.
- Audio Output: Volume control is available through the MV-41’s analog output, HDMI CEC, or an external amplifier via IR.
Pro Tip: For the best possible HDMI CEC audio experience, pairing the AC-MV-41 with the AudioControl Bijou Series amplifier is well worth considering. The Bijou 5100D supports Dolby Atmos, DTS, Dante networking, and pairs beautifully with the MultiViewer via the VESA mount for a clean, clutter-free installation.
Finishing Up: Save Your Configuration
With everything in place, tap Update at the bottom of the screen to save your configuration. That’s it—you’re all set and ready to enjoy the full STILE experience. Tap, drag, and drop your sources across your displays from anywhere in the room.
Supported Control Types at a Glance
