Independent Driver & GUI Developers
Community Drivers
Starting with ID11.13, Community Drivers are now supported. Drivers can be uploaded to Community Drivers for improved visibility and easier distribution. Drivers will be able to be pulled from directly within Integration Designer in version 11.13 or later.
Limitations
- Only allowed 10 drivers by default, this limit can be increased by putting in a request to development@rticontrol.com
- Drivers uploaded MUST be your own and signed by package driver while logged in with your developer account, the upload mechanism will check and ensure that the driver package is signed by your user.
Accessing the New Driver Publishing Dashboard
- Login to your RTI Developer Account at developer.rticontrol.com
- You will see an additional button on your dashboard “Publisher Dashboard”, upon clicking this, you may need to login again.
- You will now be at a page with the card that appears similar to the one below. Click Manage Community Drivers to proceed to your community driver dashboard.
- From here you will be able to manage already uploaded drivers, upload new drivers (new or updates to previously uploaded drivers) and view any packages you have uploaded in the past.
Accessing the New Driver Publishing Dashboard
- To upload a new driver, or updated driver, you will use the same form.
- After uploading a driver, new or update, it will bring you to the edit form for that driver.
- If this is a new driver, the correct version will already be selected. If this is an updated driver, the old driver version will still be selected. You will need to select the new version from the driver version drop down.
- If you have a license tied to this driver there is a section to add any information required by a dealer to acquire that license.
Driver Development Program Application
RTI has a Software Development Kit (SDK) for two-way driver development. This SDK will allow dealers with the technical aptitude to create drivers using script to enable RS-232 and IP two-way communications between RTI two-way enabled products (XP series processors) and other devices.
The following are minimum requirements for access to the SDK:
- Significant RTI programming aptitude
- Experience with RealTerm/HyperTerminal or similar terminal emulator
- Completed all levels of RTI Integration Designer Certified Programmers Training
- Computer programming language experience (JavaScript, C++, etc.)
Fill out the SDK application at the RTI Developer Site link below and submit it. Please note that you will be asked to login, again, with your Dealer Portal credentials. These credentials will be how we contact you should we need additional information or to process your approval.
Please wait 7-10 business days while we verify your information and consider your credentials to determine if you are eligible to receive the SDK.
NOTE: If approved, you will be required to sign a formal agreement prior to receiving the SDK from RTI.
